A database was compiled that consists of NMR data for 117 proteins from BioMagResBank (http://bmrb.wisc.edu) that have disordered regions in them. Residue-specific disorder was analyzed by the ncSPC program (Tamiola K & Mulder FAA, Biochem Soc Trans. 2012 Oct;40(5):1014-20) to investigate the patterns of variation in ordered and disordered regions. Main conclusion: there is diversity in disorder!
There is Diversity in Disorder-“In all Chaos there is a Cosmos, in all Disorder a Secret Order”. Nielsen JT, Mulder FA. Front Mol Biosci. 2016 Feb 11;3:4.
